What Tacit does

Tacit is a Slack bot that captures product feedback from your team's conversations and organizes it into a structured knowledge base. We process Slack messages that your team explicitly sends to Tacit — via @mentions, emoji reactions, or direct messages.

Data we collect

Account information. When you sign up, we collect your name and email address via Clerk authentication. If you connect a Slack workspace, we store the OAuth tokens needed to operate the bot.

Slack messages. Tacit only reads messages that are explicitly directed to it — conversations where the bot is @mentioned, messages with configured emoji reactions, or direct messages to the bot. We do not passively monitor or bulk-read your Slack workspace.

AI credentials. You provide your own API keys for AI services (e.g. Anthropic). These keys are used solely to process your data on your behalf.

How we use your data

Messages sent to Tacit are processed by AI to extract structured product feedback — themes, signals, feature requests, and customer insights. This feedback is stored as files in your organization's private knowledge base. We do not use your data to train AI models.

Data storage

Your knowledge base files and account metadata are stored on infrastructure we operate. Each organization's data is isolated. We do not share your data with third parties except as required to provide the service (e.g. sending messages to the AI provider using your API key).

Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account or disconnect your Slack workspace, we delete your knowledge base files and stored credentials. You can request data deletion at any time by contacting us.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time. You can disconnect the Slack integration and revoke access from your Slack workspace settings. Contact us at the address below for any privacy-related requests.
